Preoperative Evaluations for Eye Center Patients

Downtown Physicians at Arena provides preoperative evaluation exams for The Eye Center patients, so you may become medically approved for eye surgery. Your eye surgeon will order this exam. The evaluation consists of a history and physical exam. And, depending on your medical condition, you may also be required to have blood work and an EKG. All menstruating women will be required to do a urine pregnancy test as part of the exam.

Your eye surgeon will tell you what time to arrive for preoperative testing. For most patients, this will be two hours prior to your surgery. Please go directly to Downtown Physicians at Arena on the 2nd floor, Suite 230. After your preoperative exam is completed, you will go to the 5th (surgical) floor in the Eye Center and check in for surgery.
